More than 20 years after the band's formation, Dance Gavin Dance is on tour with four other bands following the release of their latest album, Tree City Sessions 3, in May. On June 30th, the Phoenix bill excluded Fall of Troy and featured Novelists, Wolf & Bear, Horse The Band, and Dance Gavin Dance as headliners, which made for a powerful lineup at The Van Buren. This was a staggering 38 dates into the tour with 18 more to go, and they were seemingly unfazed. I’ll have what they’re having. 

Dance Gavin Dance have kicked off a new era today with the release of not one, but two new singles - "Straight From The Heart" and "Speed Demon."

Recently coming off of their highly successful The Jackpot Juicer US tour it seems like the post-hardrock dream team that is Dance Gavin Dance will not be slowing down.

A sweaty, violent mosh pit wouldn’t be the most romantic place most people would think of, but for a Texan couple, it was heavenly bliss as they tied the knot at a sold-out Dance Gavin Dance show in Dallas.

The passing of the Dance Gavin Dance’s longtime bassist, Tim Feerick, came as a shock to fans as well as the band.

One could say success comes in many forms but for Dance Gavin Dance it came in the form of creating their own genre, Swancore. Pulling influence from math rock and progressive rock, Dance Gavin Dance is known for their high clean vocals with the mix of screams and technical instrumentals, their sound was dubbed ‘Swancore’ after guitarist, Will Swan. Other bands started to fit the bill within the subgenre and suddenly Swancore was becoming more and more recognizable. Creating a fest that consisted of a line up of only the subgenre seemed like the next best step, Swanfest had its inaugural date back in 2019 with a mix of alt bands and math rock. After the release of the band’s chart topper album, ‘Jackpot Juicer’ Swanfest continued with a longer list for a line-up but still keeping the fest at one day only.

Sacramento-based experimental rock group, Dance Gavin Dance, have begun their much-anticipated North American Afterburner Tour on September 7th. Before the tour commenced, it was announced the main support band, Animals As Leaders, would be unavailable to join due to undisclosed circumstances. Thankfully, Texas-based progressive rock group, Polyphia, would take over the reins as the main support. To recap the tour’s line-up, bands include Veil of Maya, Eidola, and Wolf & Bear.
