California-based independent music label Ipecac Recordings is bringing back its famed Geek Show. In the past, the Geek Show tour highlighted the diverse group of artists that have been associated with Ipecac Recordings. This year’s Geek Show will include Mr. Bungle, the Melvins, and Spotlights. The tour will take them through several cities in the Western United States.

On Friday, February 3rd, Deathcore quintet Osiah released their new EP 'Chronos' (via Unique Leader Records).

Hailing from the extreme music melting pot that is the northeast of England, Osiah transcends the deathcore label with what could possibly be the most torturous barrage of filth the UK has produced in recent years. Crushingly intense breakdowns and deathly chops tread a familiar path, but jarringly detuned guitars, unpredictable tempo changes and vocals that range from wide-ranging pitched screams to commanding guttural bowel openers add an extra evil to the sound that cannot be put into words.

British rock band Enter Shikari has just released the music video for "(pls) set me on fire.” The track is the first single off the forthcoming new album A Kiss For The Whole World. Enter Shikari frontman Rou Reynolds took a more active role in developing the music video than he has previously done. Reynolds conceived and directed the video aided by the production talents of London-based studio Kode Media.

Echoland Music Festival has released its 2023 lineup for the May event. The festival will take place at the Spirit of the Suwanee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida, May 11th-13th; tickets for the event went on sale on January 19th. Brothers Aiden and Conner Smith makeup 90’s alt inspired Groundstate, which they formed in 2014 with the intentions of writing hard rock with a modern taste.

On Friday February 3rd, Los Angeles based rock trio Fencer had released their long awaited self-produced debut self-titled album through Blood Blast Distribution and to celebrate they had also released the official music video for their track Couch. This band has been working hard the last handful of years opening for bands and generating a lot of buzz amongst fans, that hard work has paid off. Throughout the album, there’s something for everyone to love. The flow of the album itself takes you on a rollercoaster you don’t want off of. Their garage sound with lyrics that emphasize the struggle of mental illness is evident, they present their message with their tracks perfectly with a groove rock sound that even has some blues added in making a sound all their own.

Solence has released a visualizer video for the track “Antidote.” This recent release is the fifth single from the new album, “_hope is a cult_.” The forthcoming record will be the third full-length album for the group, following the release of their 2021 record, “Deafening.” Before the release of “Antidote,” Solence released a series of videos for four other singles from “_hope is a cult_” including “Rain Down,” “Blood Sweat Tears,” “Demons,” and “nuBlood.” Cumulative, the singles have garnered over 500k views on YouTube.

On January 20th, solo rap artist Macklemore released his latest single with a music video to accompany it for his single Heroes featuring DJ Premier fans have waited for, although he is originally from Kent, WA the old school NY rap style and essence is evident with this release. The video was shot in NYC on the streets and on the MTA subway to bring together the vibe you feel when listening to it. As a native NYer myself, I loved every moment of the video and the song itself.

You Me At Six has released a new single from their upcoming album, “Truth Decay,” which will be released on February 10th. The album was set for release on January 27th; however, the band was forced to delay due to vinyl production issues. The fifth single, ":mydopamine:” is from the new album. Vocalist, Josh Frenceschi, has spoken about the recent release stating, “Dopamine is the body’s feel-good chemical, it’s responsible for allowing you to have pleasure, satisfaction and motivation. This song is about someone being that for you, making you feel good, making you feel alive.”

American progressive metal Pyramid is perhaps the biggest of all supergroups. The project has been incredibly prolific in a short amount of time. In just three years, Pyramid released four albums.
