The metalcore band The Dillinger Escape Plan are entering the four-color world of comic books with One of Us Is the Killer, a graphic novel inspired by their album of the same name. One of Us Is the Killer is a sci-fi story about a dystopian future where a lone figure brings justice and retribution against a techno-corporate tyranny.

The hip-hop/punk fusion group Codefendants have a unique origin. Get Dead graffiti crew member Sam King was tattooing to raise money to assist incarcerated rapper Ceschi Ramos whom he was a fan of. After Ramos was released he finally met King at a legendary punk venue, the Gilman Street Project in Berkeley, California. A shared appreciation for hip-hop, punk rock, and Jameson whisky bonded the pair.

The highly adored frontman of the emo/pop-punk quintet Mayday Parade, Derek Sanders, has announced his new EP The Heavy Box. The EP is set to release on April 14th via Rise Records. This will be Sanders’ second solo release following My Rock and Roll Heart, which was released in 2020 and contains five stripped-back covers.

Country music has always had a dark current running thru it. The further you move away from the clean, pop sound of modern Nashville, the closer you get to songs about heavy drinking, fighting, and broken hearts. Brooklyn-based band Makes My Blood Dance has been thrilling audiences with their unique blend of metal, glam rock, and electropop which has variously been described as dance rock, metal for theater kids, goth metal, or goth opera, but perhaps more accurately it should be called disco metal.
