Estonia Post-Punk Rock Group, The Boondocks, released their latest record Soup Can Pop Band on September 27th, marking the fourth record in their discography. Soup Can Pop Band was released with 11 songs and one music video for “Whatever You Said Went Over My Head”. As with every record up to this point, the quartet released a unique batch of tracks that define “The Boondocks” image and sound.

Fans of RPGs and heavy metal will be excited to know that Iron Maiden has announced a new collaboration regarding their hit game, Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast. Previous collaborations with Amon Amarth and Lacuna Coil were well received by fans. Now the Swedish rockers Ghost will be joining this impressive collection of bands who are part of Iron Maiden’s gaming universe.

On the night of Saturday, October 23rd, hardcore metal band Bodysnatcher hailing in from Florida headlined the Broken Land Festival in Brooklyn, NY at The Monarch.

British rock band IDLES came to NYC for two sold-out nights at Terminal 5. They have been on a lengthy tour around the US with Brooklynites Gustaf as support, and both bands captured the crowd with a fierce focus and energy.

On October 15th, elbow released another track from their upcoming album Flying Dream 1 which you can pre-order here. The track, “Six Words”, is also accompanied by a film of the creation of the song. 

On October 15th, Belgian musician and producer Stromae released a new single, “Santé”, with Darkroom and Interscope Records. The song is paired with a music video co-directed by Jaroslav Moravec and Luc Van Haver. “Santé” is Stromae’s first new single since 2018, and it surpasses expectations. 

On October 22nd, New York-based metal band Afterus released their music video for their latest single “Obsidian Moon”. This band perfectly meshes together and harnesses elements of folk, symphony, goth, death, doom, and experimental to incite the realization of unity through apocalyptic loss and devastation.

Psychedelic alt-rockers The Technicolors have just dropped their fourth album, Cinema Sublimina. The band’s signature blend of indie rock and Britpop influences are in full form in their latest release which adds additional funk and dance elements. The Technicolors have already released four singles off Cinema Sublimina, and they each represent a different aspect of the band’s sound.

On October 8th, New Jersey pop-punk group All Systems Go released their new single, "No One Does Homecoming Like Us". The song highlights vocalist and guitarist Matt Pezza’s feelings about his ten-year high school reunion, reflecting on feelings of anxiety and disappointment, the good times in your hometown, and knowing when it’s time to leave.

Formed during the pandemic, San Diego’s Toxins released a 4-song EP Recovery Room following the release of their single “You Missed a Doozy”. Although they have been in the punk scene for years, Branson, Gui, Ale, and Matt started playing together in the late summer of 2020 with Sean joining in the early fall to solidify the lineup.

On October 1st, elbow released a new track, “The Seldom Seen Kid”, coming from their upcoming album Flying Dream 1 which you can pre-order here. The new album is set to release on November 19th. “The Seldom Seen Kid” shares a title with elbow’s triple-platinum and Mercury Prize-winning album, with a shared meaning - it is a tribute to the band’s late friend and musician, Bryan Glancy.  Lead vocalist and guitarist Guy Garvey reflect on the moment that his wife met Glancy, a specific moment beautifully immortalized in this track. 

South Florida native POORSTACY has made a name for himself by transcending genre. Coming out of the hip-hop scene, POORSTACY also delved into punk rock and heavy metal to craft some of the most interesting music being heard today. POORSTACY’s latest album, Party at the Cemetery continues the artist’s innovative blending of styles.

On September 28th, Years & Years released his new single “Crave”, along with a music video. He also announced the details for his upcoming album, titled Night Call, which will be released on January 7th, 2022, and can be pre-ordered here. With a star-studded music video and a hypnotizing track, “Crave” acts as a wonderful introduction to what we can expect from Night Call.

On October 8th, Portland, OR band Chlorine dropped their debut single and music video “Thanks For Nothing”, recorded with Alan Day (of Four Year Strong).

On September 17th, Eidola released their new album, The Architect. This album is a collaboration between the band, Blue Swan Records, and Rise Records, and it packs a punch. With the singles already released creating lots of excitement surrounding the album, Eidola had high expectations to live up to - and they delivered. 

On October 13th, hardcore heavy hitter hardcore band Knocked Loose released a brand new EP and animated film A Tear in the Fabric of Life following 2019’s album of the year A Different Shade of Blue.

On October 1st, State Champs kicked off “spooky season” with a high-energy pop-punk show in Tempe, AZ. Supporting them on the Pure Noise Records Tour was Bearings, Just Friends, Real Friends, and Four Year Strong.

On Saturday, October 9th, Ice Nine Kills dropped their fourth single off their highly anticipated to-be-released album The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood available today! The latest single is a Stephen King-inspired track, “Funeral Derangements” after his iconic and classic novel Pet Sematary.

In the song, “Kiss the Concrete,” solo artist CRLO sings, “I’ve seen the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, now where do I go from here?” Well, hopefully, life gets higher for CRLO who, if this single is any indication, has exciting potential to make a positive contribution to the modern rock scene.

Friday, October 1st, hard rock band Dead Sara rocked NYC at the Bowery Ballroom. They hit the stage around 9:30 pm and from start to finish, the band didn’t disappoint their fans by playing their older tracks and their newer ones. The energy and excitement that filled the room was contagious. There wasn’t a single unhappy fan in the crowd as each song went on.
