On Friday, February 25, 2022, Atlanta, GA, nu-deathcore powerhouse Left to Suffer released their latest music video for single, "Overwhelming Power".

On December 1st, small band MRBLHOUS released a single titled “Honors Student”, following their first release “November”. The hard-rocking rap duo of Twiztid (Jamie Madrox and Monoxide Child) is back curating the fifth edition of Michigan’s own award-winning convention Astronomicon. This year’s edition, referred to as Astronomicon 5, is set to take place in Burton Manor, Livonia, MI on the weekend of April 22nd to 24th, 2022. This major pop culture event will include a vast array of guests representing all corners of the entertainment world. 

On February 4th, 2022, duo Brittany and the Blisstones release their music video for “Mermaid”, the first track for their upcoming EP. This song is the first song Brittany Bliss ever wrote with Reid Givens.

Hedras is a modern guitar master whose transcends the limits of genre to create innovative music. Hailing from Dallas, Texas, Hedras Ramos has been a multi-instrumentalist since childhood. While starting out on drums at age six, by age thirteen the guitar become the focus of his musical education. Entirely self-taught, he began to practice 12 hours a day. By 2011 when he was only nineteen, he composed and produced his first instrumental album, Atoms and Space. Now known as Hedras, the artist was able to attract renowned rock guitarists Andy James and Jennifer Batten to appear on his debut album. 

New York-based band Ursa Minor has released a new lyric video for their song, “Stardust.” The video is appropriately cosmic in theme with stunning visuals of nebulas and stars racing by you at warped speed. The groovy guitar and vocals will give listeners the proper headspace to enjoy the trippy images that materialize on the screen.

Esprit D’Air, the London-based J-rock band have released their sophomore album titled Oceans. The album, released via Starstorm Records, features guest appearances and remixes from leading figures in the rock and electronic music scenes. Goth legend Ben Christo from The Sisters of Mercy appears on the track “Dead Zone.” Ryo Kinoshita, the lead singer of Japanese metalcore band Crystal Lake, supplies vocals on “The Abyss.” The song “Souhou Liar” features Japanese producer UmiKazeTaiyou.

Not much has been heard from the Viking lords of metal Amon Amarth in the last couple of years, but like any barbarian invasion, they hit when you least expected it. The new standalone single, "Put Your Back into The Oar” made its debut on SiriusXM's Liquid Metal and it shows that the band has not lost any of its power in the last two years. This standalone single was put out in honor of the fan tradition of the “epic Viking row” performed at Amon Amarth live shows. The performance created by the band’s devoted fans involves sitting on the ground in a line-up and mimicking the rowing motion of oarsmen on a Viking ship.

Goth/industrial supergroup Beauty in Chaos have released their fifth album, Behind the Veil. The project conceived by Human Drama and Gene Loves Jezebel guitarist Michael Ciravolo features a revolving door of guest musicians with Ciravolo remaining as chief songwriter and curator. What makes Behind the Veil unique in the group’s discography is that the album marks the first time that the line-up of Beauty in Chaos is entirely made of women artists.

Avant-garde pop singer and songwriter Lia Hide uses her music to explore deep philosophical questions. This is no clearer than in her latest single, “Proposal.” The video depicts the members of her three-piece band in separate rooms getting dressed for dinner. This is the first chapter of the trilogy called the Timeaus Sonata with the dinner part to be shown in a later video titled “Dinner.” The three chapters are meant to illustrate Plato’s Timeaus dialogue.

Los Angeles-based rockers Red Devil Vortex have released a new single called, “Psycho.” In an official statement from the band, Red Devil Vortex described “Psycho” as a “fictional story based on the dark side often present in toxic relationships.” Structurally, the song mirrors the psychological turmoil of a person stuck in a relationship that is dysfunctional and destructive. The song moves from quiet reflection to intense emotional outbursts of energy. The mix of alternative and hard rock genres has resulted in a unique and signature sound for Red Devil Vortex and is sure to please fans of Bad Wolves, Five Finger Death Punch, Disturbed, Ghost, and Rob Zombie.

On January 26th, 2022, hip-hop and rock artist POORSTACY released a music video for his track “Knife Party”, from his recent album Party At The Cemetery. Featuring Oli Sykes from Bring Me The Horizon, “Knife Party'', the song is accompanied by a video from POORSTACY’s Los Angeles show last fall.

Hailing from the working-class enclaves of Gloucester City, New Jersey, punk band The Warhawks keep true to their roots. Their latest album, This Ain’t Art, has a title that aptly describes the band's creative direction. This is not the type of pretentious indie rock. The Warhawks play balls-to-the-wall punk rock, and they play it loud, fast, and heavy.

Cut Like This, those devilishly stylish horror punks from NYC are back with a new single, “The Boogeyman.” Known for their creepy music videos, Cut Like This has previously freaked out fans with spooky tracks dealing with macabre and demonic entities such as La Llorona in “Lights Out” and werewolves in “Bite.” For the “The Boogeyman” Cut Like This brings to life the original monster that haunted us from our childhood.

Canadian pop-punk band Sleep/less dropped their single, “My Serenade” on February 25th. This is the second track released this year from the band following the debut of their song “Means to an End” last January. The melodic guitars, layered vocals, and tight drumming of “Means to an End” were greeted favorably by pop-punk fans. Those Sleep/less fans who are eager to hear from the group will certainly enjoy “My Serenade” which continues the band’s musical evolution. 

On January 28th, 2022, thrash group Generation Kill released their new album, MKUltra. This album was released with Blood Blast Distribution and Art Is War Records.

Royal & The Serpent made a stop in Phoenix, AZ on this past Monday, March 7th in support of Grandson on Death Of A Tour. It was a high-energy night full of good music and fun antics.
