English pop-rock and emo group, You Me At Six, have released the fourth single off of their upcoming album, “Truth Decay”. The single, titled “heartLess,” was released on December 8th. Vocalist, Josh Frenceschi, discussed the recent release, “‘heartLESS’ was a song we’ve been sitting on for years knowing it would always come out,” . . . “It’s a song about feeling insecure and yet accepting of whatever may come. I wrote this song about someone close to me in the middle ground of a break up and falling in love.”

Thousand Below dropped their new album, “Hell Finds You Everywhere”, on December 9, 2022 through Pale Chord Music. The recent release is the third studio album for the San Diego based metal and rock quartet. The musical foursome consists of vocalist James Deberg, guitarist Josh Thomas, bassist Josh Billimoria, and drummer Max Santoro.

My favorite (and most unexpected) moment from the pit came at a My Chemical Romance concert at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. This show had built up anticipation since I purchased the pre-pandemic concert tickets in 2019.

Long Island based metal band Patterns of Decay have released their latest music video for their track Of Famine and Plague today, which was exclusively released through Metal Injection. This single is released off their second full length self-titled album released last year.

Many fans rung in the New Year while attending Decadence Arizona: Ancient Future 2022. The two-day EDM festival at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, Arizona was not an event to miss for Arizonian EDM fans. Many even traveled from out of state to attend the event showcasing artists such as Deathpact, Subtronics, Zeds Dead, and Porter Robinson who closed out the event.

Since the last release of ‘Peach Club’ in 2019, it was becoming quite obvious to fans that Emarosa was moving their sound in a different direction and ‘Sting’ really drives home that point. After the bands’ creation in 2006 the band has moved through several different sound changes over the years but they always hit the mark and ‘Sting’ is no different.

Local extreme metal hardcore NY/NJ based band Court Order are back but not without a silent announcement of the departure with their previous vocalist JJ along with their recent release of their latest single Ocean Dream featuring the previous vocalist JJ.

The Chicago-based group The Bellwether Syndicate continues to release music from their upcoming album Vestige & Vigil. The first release was the dark and powerful single, “Dystopian Mirror” which reached #11 in the German Alternative Charts (DAC). Now fans of The Bellwether Syndicate can enjoy the latest single, “Beacons.” Like the previous single, “Beacons” features a heavy combo of guitars, synth, and bass. The new track surpasses its predecessor and charts at #4 on DAC.

Shuffling through my middle school playlist always brings back a strong wave of nostalgia. The upcoming EP by Los Angeles based artist, L E A, took me back to hot July days of running from stage to stage in hopes of hearing my favorite artists play. 

While growing up in the small coastal town of Point Pleasant, New Jersey, L E A was exposed to a multitude of music genres that helped shape her own sound. Fat Mike, punk rock legend and independent music mogul is at it again with an announcement of a new record label, Bottles to the Ground. Already the co-owner with Erin Kelly-Burkett of the highly influential record label Fat Wreck Chords, Fat Mike created Bottles to the Ground as an imprint that will focus on music projects from bands that don’t fit neatly into the typical sound of the main label.

Goosebumps from the epic synth and the guitar riffs give off a Blue Oyster Cult meets Muse vibes. Hailing from Finland, a hidden gem comes in the form of Pennies By The Pound.

A song that was written about something we can all relate to, hitting rock bottom and learning that it’s okay to be okay with it. Lyrics like ‘I’m right where I’m supposed to be with darkness rollin’ over me’ really can speak to the point that it’s okay to let yourself feel the wave of all of the negative emotions so the process of moving on can begin.

This year flew by so quickly, but with its urgency we were blessed with another great year for music releases. Many of us attended countless concerts we will never forget, many of which had also been completely sold out almost immediately as everyone finally became comfortable attending them again.
