A debut LP has been released for Athens, Greece quintet, The WaterStriders. “My Name is EXPECTATION” was released on November 04, 2022, via Old Bad Habits Label. The freshman album is a unique blend of indie rock and garage pop for members Manos Aretoulakis (vocals), Helias Koulouzis (bassist, backup vocals), Asterios Kotoulas (guitarist), and Giotis Petrellis (drummer). The WaterStriders have released two music videos for singles from the LP - “Can I Settle For A Night” and “Love Is A Friend.”

Since the quarantine release of 2020’s Wake Up Sunshine, All Time Low has stayed with their roots. Writing music and performing. The band has released several singles since 2020 as well as a streamed concert series dubbed Basement Noise, whereas each member of the group curated a setlist. The singles include: Once in a Lifetime, PMA, a cover of the Weeknd’s Blinding Lights and Sleepwalking which is a single off the upcoming album.

Every Emo Kids dream has come true, Fall Out Boy has finally released a brand new single Love From The Other Side off their highly anticipated new album So Much (For) Stardust which is set to release on March 24th. With this rejoicing news, this will be a long awaited return for the band as they are releasing this with their original label Fueled By Ramen from back in 2003 with a small added change, Elektra is the distributer. This is also their reunion with producer Neal Avron, who they collaborated with on albums From Under the Cork Tree, Infinity on High, and Folie à Deux.

English alt-pop psychedelia band Black Market Karma has announced a new tour across Europe. The band will tour with fellow psychedelic artists from across the pond, The Black Angels. This tour will promote Black Market Karma’s eleventh album, Friends in Noise, to be released via Flower Power Records.

The Chaos & Carnage Tour will return with a new line-up of bands both veteran and up-and-coming. Jason Malhoyt of Imperial Artist Management and JJ Cassiere of booking agency 33 and West, continue to produce this event to highlight the best in extreme metal. Co-headlining the tour are Dying Fetus and Suicide Silence.

On January 6th, first-generation Iranian-American artist Lexy Panterra released her latest music video for her empowered female anthem single Bad Bitch. Unlike her previous pop single Simple Life which was released in December 2022, this time around she has shown her diversity with this rap/hip-hop track which promotes being your authentic self; equating it to being a “bad bitch.” On the revitalizing single, Panterra finds herself reminding the world that we all are confident and should be proud of ourselves.

I guess it’s my turn for one of my Tales From The Pit, for this round I’m going with The Acacia Strain. Now imagine, the room is raging in the pit and going harder than ever because let’s face it, its a hardcore metal show. CHAOS! Swedish metal-electropop foursome, Solence, has dropped a music video for the track “nuBlood.” The video was released on December 14, 2022, and has already amassed 23k views on YouTube. The single, which features Bryan Kuznitz of Fame on Fire, is the latest single from the group of their upcoming album, “_hope is a cult_.” This recent release is the fourth single from the new album; cumulatively, the recent releases have garnered over 373k views on YouTube, and over two million listens on Spotify. The forthcoming record will be the third full-length album for the group, following the release of their 2021 record, “Deafening.”

Athens, Greece rock-metal group, Scream Collision, has released a music video off of their album, “Memories”. The music video is for the track, “Mess Inside My Head (Memories)”, which is the first track on the album. “Memories” follows various characters as they navigate ailing mental health before winning the battle.

For 25 years independent record label Unique Leader has released some of the most brutal extreme metal albums. To celebrate its silver anniversary Unique Leader will present a North American tour featuring artists on the label. Unique Legion North American Tour 2023 will be a huge 32-date tour. The international selection of bands on the tour represents some of the most innovative and exciting bands in today’s metal scene.

Pop-punk superstars, Sleeping With Sirens, have released an acoustic version of their track “Complete Collapse”. The new release was debuted on December 15th. The track comes a mere two months after the quintet released their album of the same name.

English pop-rock and emo group, You Me At Six, have released the fourth single off of their upcoming album, “Truth Decay”. The single, titled “heartLess,” was released on December 8th. Vocalist, Josh Frenceschi, discussed the recent release, “‘heartLESS’ was a song we’ve been sitting on for years knowing it would always come out,” . . . “It’s a song about feeling insecure and yet accepting of whatever may come. I wrote this song about someone close to me in the middle ground of a break up and falling in love.”

Thousand Below dropped their new album, “Hell Finds You Everywhere”, on December 9, 2022 through Pale Chord Music. The recent release is the third studio album for the San Diego based metal and rock quartet. The musical foursome consists of vocalist James Deberg, guitarist Josh Thomas, bassist Josh Billimoria, and drummer Max Santoro.

My favorite (and most unexpected) moment from the pit came at a My Chemical Romance concert at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. This show had built up anticipation since I purchased the pre-pandemic concert tickets in 2019.

Long Island based metal band Patterns of Decay have released their latest music video for their track Of Famine and Plague today, which was exclusively released through Metal Injection. This single is released off their second full length self-titled album released last year.

Many fans rung in the New Year while attending Decadence Arizona: Ancient Future 2022. The two-day EDM festival at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, Arizona was not an event to miss for Arizonian EDM fans. Many even traveled from out of state to attend the event showcasing artists such as Deathpact, Subtronics, Zeds Dead, and Porter Robinson who closed out the event.

Since the last release of ‘Peach Club’ in 2019, it was becoming quite obvious to fans that Emarosa was moving their sound in a different direction and ‘Sting’ really drives home that point. After the bands’ creation in 2006 the band has moved through several different sound changes over the years but they always hit the mark and ‘Sting’ is no different. 

There are few 10-year-olds that can be kickass on the mic as well as Harper. The young internet star exploded on the scene with her amazing one-take rendition of Spiritbox’s hit song “Holy Roller.” The video got 222,000 YouTube views. With metal media such as Kerrang!, Loudwire, Rock Sound, and Revolver enthusiastically covered the video, Harper was an overnight sensation.

Local extreme metal hardcore NY/NJ based band Court Order are back but not without a silent announcement of the departure with their previous vocalist JJ along with their recent release of their latest single Ocean Dream featuring the previous vocalist JJ.
